Showcased a complete body of work titled "Family Tree" that was used as an outlet for current and artistic aesthetics. While giving the viewers insight to the thought process and technique, it also demonstrated the growth progress from his previous New York studies. "While some African tribes use masks to hide and neutralize the individual, they are used in others to display the beautiful inner qualities of a being. Here, using different shapes and colors in mask form, they help depict stories that revolve around each individual. In constructing and juxtaposing the figures - line, color, shape and humor were all considered during the process."
The work is arranged much like a family tree "collage" one would see over a couch or along a staircase. Breaking traditional art hanging, the portraits are hung without frames in a similar fashion to simulate the Tree of Life. The intent is to look up and around at the body of work and feel connected through the artwork itself.
